It seems very fitting to me that Easter is celebrated in the spring. For just as Christ rose from the dead; flowers are rising up out of the ground. And just as people are focusing on doing some “spring cleaning” within their homes; Easter is the perfect time for us to do some “internal” spring-cleaning.

We can use this day to reflect on our Christian walk and how we are growing in the Lord. Easter is not a day to ease our consciences merely by showing up in church. It is a day for reflection on the sacrifice God made on our behalf, and how we can sacrifice on His.

We can get too comfortable in our Christian walk; never going outside of our comfort zones to see how God can “wow” us with His glory. It is too easy to let our beliefs become tradition in our lives just like hunting Easter eggs is a tradition.

So, let this holiday challenge your heart and your soul. And just watch where God takes you.
