How to Set Your Table
May 2004 (Newstream) -- One hundred Accredited Staging ProfessionalsTM from across the U.S. and Canada will converge on a $1.8 million 4,000 square foot home in Pleasanton, CA on Friday, May 21 to orchestrate a massive makeover. The four-hour Speed Staging Marathon is one of the hands-on training sessions planned for the International Association of Home Staging® Professionals convention to be held May 19-22 at the Concord Hilton. The IAHSP, the country's only accrediting Staging organization, meets annually to share ideas and learn new skills in the area of Staging-a system of preparing homes for sale that allows properties to sell faster, and for more money. www.stagedhomes.com). "This event not only gives Stagers great hands-on experience, it also quickly and dramatically illustrates the results you can achieve."
Unlike decorating, Staging is a series of researched, proven techniques that increase the sales potential of a property by making it appeal not to the current owner-but to the potential buyer. Staging works by minimizing items that can distract a buyer and creating an environment where buyers can easily imagine themselves living in the home.
"The way you live in a home and the way you market and sell your house are two different things," continued Schwarz. "Buyers only know what they see, not the way it's going to be, so Staging helps them mentally move in to the home."
Schwarz pioneered the concept of Home Staging. Since 1985, she has taught over 500,000 real estate agents and interior decorators her Staging principles. The popularity of Staging continues to soar, evidenced by the recent introduction of two new television series related to the subject, HGTV's Designed to Sell, and Sell This House on A&E. Schwarz began offering Accredited Staging Professional courses in 2000, the only accredited training of its kind in the country. To earn an ASP designation, individuals receive rigorous, hands-on training in the techniques of Staging and agree to a professional code of ethics. Over 3,000 individuals from as far away as Hungary and Finland have become accredited.
The "Speed Staging" event will be held Friday, May 21 from 1 to 5pm. Contact Shell Brodnax at 925-686-2414 for directions and further arrangements.
