Some questions Lisa has answered for her clients:
Q- What is the general rule for eyeshadow colors, dark vs light.
A- Always remember that Dark color eyeshadow makes and area recede, light color eyeshadow makes an area come forward.
Q- How can I make my make up last longer including my eyeshadow throughout the day?
A- When applying your foundation don't forget to also apply it to your eyelids. Always follow foundation application with loose powder, including the eye lid area What this does is that it sets your make up thus allowing it to stay "fresh" for a longer period of time and applying it to your eyelids provides a base for eyeshadow and this helps the skin hold the color longer.
Q- How do I get rid of my oily skin. It seems that I spend the better part of my day blotting my face with a tissue and I do use skin care and I still have blemishes.
A- Yours is one of the most common questions asked so know that you are not alone. The problem is usually that you are not using the proper skin care regimen for your personal needs. A person with very dry skin and a person with oily skin SHOULD NOT use the same skin care system. We all have Sebaceous Glands which help keep skin soft and supple. Over-active sebaceous glands cause oily skin. Under-active glands cause skin to be dry. Many times people with over-active sebaceous glands are prone to acne. Bacteria can then cause inflammation, resulting in blemishes. You need to use products with oil controlling ingredients. By constantly blotting, over scrubbing or over cleansing your skin, you strip away the''natural" moisture of your skin and in a sense you are telling your sebaceous glands to keep pumping oil out onto the surface of your skin. The key is to keep the moisture but get rid of the oil.
Also, when choosing and acne treatment, make sure that it contains Salicylic Acid. This ingredient penetrates pores to help keep skin clear of new acne blemishes. If you would like more detailed information, contact me.
