Back to School Checklists
Read to your child
Provide a space to work
Provide good lighting
Provide comfort
Provide snacks after school
Provide a schedule
- Allow at least 30 minutes for study
- Show interest in work
- Share your expertise…have you read that book before?
- Allow for play and creativity
- Check his homework notebook…if school does not provide one...make one.
- Help child break down tasks…especially for projects
- Celebrate child's achievements not shortcomings
- Bite your tongue…don't nag. Do motivate
- Provide basic reference materials at home
