1) Cookie in a Jar

1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 cup crispy rice cereal
1 & 1/2 cups flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup white sugar

In a quart jar, layer the ingredients in the order listed. Mix flour with soda and baking powder. Pack down firmly after each addition.

Cookies in a Jar
Cream 2 tblsp. of water, 1/2 cup of margarine, and 1 egg together until light. Add entire contents of the jar and stir until well blended. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto an greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350* for 10-12 min.

2) Butterscotch Brownie Mix

1/2 cup firmly packed coconut
3/4 cup chopped pecans
2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
2 cups flour mixed with 1 & 1/2 tbsp. baking powder and 1/4 tsp. salt.

Layer ingredients in order given in a quart jar. Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient.
Attach recipe below, to jar:
Butterscotch Brownies
Empty jar of bownie mix into large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix. Add: 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened.
2 eggs slightly beaten. 2 tsp. vanilla. Mix until completely blended. Spread batter into a sprayed or greased 9×13 metal pan. Bake at 375* for 25 min.

3) Holiday Soup Mix

1/2 cup dry split peas
1/3 cup beef bouillon granules
1/4 cup pearl barley
1/2 cup lentils
1/4 cup dried minced onions
2 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/2 cup uncooked long grain rice
1/2 cup alphabet macaroni or other small macaroni (put in a plastic sandwich bag)

In a pint jar, layer the first eight ingredients in the order given. Seal tightly

Friendship Soup Mix
You will need the following additional ingredients 1 pound ground beef or stew meat – 3 quarts of water 1 can (28 oz.) tomatoes, un-drained. Remove macaroni and set aside. In a large saucepan brown beef and drain. Add the water, tomatoes and soup mix; bring to a boil, reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 45 min. Add macaroni and simmer for 20 min. more

4) Holiday M&M Cookie Mix in a Jar

1 1/4 cups white sugar
1 1/4 cups M and M’s candies(green and red)
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Mix together flour, baking soda and baking powder. Layer ingredients in jar in order given in a 1-quart ”wide mouth” canning jar. Add the flour mixture last. It will be a tight fit when you add the flour mixture so be sure to pack everything down firmly. Add a piece of fabric to the top of the jar and tie with raffia.
Instructions to attach to jar:
M & M’s Cookies
Empty jar of cookie mix into large mixing bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly blend mix. Add 1/2 cup margarine or butter softened at room temperature. DO NOT USE DIET MARGARINE Mix in 1 egg, slightly beaten, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Mix until completely blended. You will need to finish mixing with your hands. Shape into balls the size of walnuts and place on a parchment lined cookie sheet 2 inches apart. DO NOT USE WAXED PAPER. Bake at 375° for 12 to 14 minutes until edges are slightly browned. Cool on cookie sheet for about 5 minutes then remove to wire racks to finish cooling. Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.

5) Mocha Coffee Mix

2 1/2 cups powdered non-dairy creamer
2 cups hot cocoa mix
1 cup instant coffee granules
1 cup Ovaltine chocolate drink mix
1/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Combine all ingredients: mix well. Store in an airtight container. Yield: 6 cups mix. Give gift with instructions: To serve, add 1 tablespoon mix to 3/4 cup boiling water.
