Sweet ‘n Sour Meatballs

2 lbs. Ground beef
1 cup of bread crumbs
1 tsp. Salt ¼ tsp. Pepper
1 medium onion chopped
2 eggs
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Shape into 1-1/2 inch balls.
Brown meatballs in oil and drain fat.

Sauce for Meatballs

4 tbsp. Of brown sugar
3 tbsp. Of cornstarch
1 cup of water
2 cans of pineapple chunks (reserve syrup)
1 cup of syrup… from cans of pineapple
6 tbsp. Of apple cider vinegar
4 tbsp. Of soy sauce
4 green peppers cut into 1 inch pieces

In large skillet add sugar, and cornstarch tobrowned meatballs. Stir in water, syrup, vinegarand soy sauce. Heat mixture until boils andthickens, stirring constantly. Add pineapple,green pepper. Simmer covered, 15 to 20 minutes

Let your New Year’s Eve Party be warm, friendly and inviting. Let it wrap around your guests like warmth and coziness.

Provide journals. (You might place the guys in front of the T. V.) You can pick some up at a dollar store or even rather well priced at your favorite grocery store. Provide lovely pens for guests to use. Let them be inspired by some New Year’s Poetry. Print them out. Topics: Good Friends, Recipe for New Years, Auld Lang Syne (old times gone by), Poetic New Year’s resolutions.

Have friends bring photos from past years and share. Have each make a scrap book page with their photos. Provide some scrap book materials

Grape Sparkle

1 bottle (64oz.) White Grape Juice
1 bottle of sparkling water (your choice)

Place in punch bowl, surround with white grapes and silver baubles.

Resolution Writing

If you want to write resolutions with your guests then provide a sheet for them to do so:

But, give them some incentive:

Do I want to lose weight?
Do I want to exhibit kindness?
Shouldn’t I worry less?
Shouldn’t I forgive and forget those who have offended me?
Shall I set out to do more for others, rather than concentrate on myself?
Add some of your own ideas to the list.

What about the kids? Have them make booklets of their own. Use those Christmas cards for book covers and some computer paper folded. The kids can write things like:

Who will I be kind to? How can I help mommy this year? (etc.)
Kids Resolution List to print.
If you use some of these ideas, you will certainly have a very unique New Year’s Party. One your guests will appreciate and come away with positive “lang syne.”
