Notes from San Francisco

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

Well, today is or was day 3…Bernie is zzzzing away….I am still up…
thought I would add a couple of notes..

We didn’t do too much today.
We had a bagel from the coffee shop across the street with coffee back in our room…Bernie
went to get it.

From San Francisco

We then went out and walked around…finally went to the safeway looking for flip flops..none, walgreens for flip flops…none:( so we went to World Market…a store with an international flair…so the name:)
Here is their website:
http://www.worldmarket.com/
Bernie got a little bored, no problem, he just went to the barnes and noble…right next door.
I saw some fabulous curtains that I want for Chuck’s room, but the lady couldn’t find them even they were in the inventory…so she will call me tom. …hope she finds them.
I am liking the drapery rods…check out these:
Nice Carved Wooden ones

Lots of nice baskets
Bernie liked the Narrow Ones
Bernie thought we could put our mail in them…the ones we looked at were with a dark stain.

so, off to Barnes and Noble to get Bernie…I had a piece of cheesecake for lunch and some orange juice.

Then it was off to Trader Joes a neighborhood grocer store.
with “delicious foods and beverages from the basics like milk, bread and butter to more exotic fare like imported cheeses, organic produce and hand-tossed pizza from Italy.”
We got some strawberries, milk for our coffee…(they brought a complimentary fridge in our room)
some wine, a Rodney Strong estate, Savignon Blanc (let you know how it is)
and some cheddar and braeburn apples..oh and of course, big bear Bernie’s blackberries.

Then we carried our wares back to the hotel and ate a couple of blackberries and went back
out to shop…we stopped at a couple of clothing shops…lots of t-shirts and hoodies….
and on to a souvenir store that had cameras…b. bought one but we are taking it back tom.
it was overpriced as we discovered online.

Then, back at the room Bernie waited for Jerry to come pick him up…Jerry is an old friend of ours
from Philly days. They had not seen one another in 20 some years. They went onto dinner and
I ate in the hotel restaurant called Knuckles
We are staying at the Hyatt at Fishermans Wharf
fishermanswharf
Take the Tour of the Hotel and Restaurant

Bernie and Jerry went to a restaurant called Mel’s…not the diner but some other place I have to check out.

Ok, it’s off to bed for me…
